The highly-popular Biesemeyer fence system continues to deliver accurate and unwavering performance, especially in their flagship Unisaw model.
DELTA positions the Unisaw’s knife such that blind cuts (the blade cutting only partially through the stock) can be performed while preserving the safety features of the knife. Typical riving knives sit slightly above the blade and allow only through cuts. The Unisaw utilizes a unique split guard insert that allows for a rise-and-fall riving knife that can accomplish both through cuts and blind cuts. Most saws require two wrenches to be rotated in opposite directions for blade changes the Unisaw truncates the process by requiring only one wrench. Blade changes are also simplified with a push-button arbor lock. The tilt crank includes a bevel dial that is accurate within a quarter of a degree. Most saws on the market combine blade height and tilt in one mechanism it certainly works, but the Unisaw divides and conquers with its dual front crank design. All of this weight contributes to a steady, vibration-free experience that has earned its place in countless workshops.īlade adjustments are actuated with two wheels. Plastic is kept to a minimum on the business ends. The expansive 31” x 40” table is forged from iron. The motor and blade are held steady by cast iron trunnions. Cast iron abounds and adds to the heft of the unit. Weighing in at exactly two Eastern gorillas (or approximately 1.9 Western gorillas), the nearly 700 pound Unisaw won’t budge under the most strenuous of jobs. A powerful 3hp motor ensures smooth and consistent performance. Its impressive longevity is deserved given its solid engineering and functionality.
